About the Opportunity:
John Paul College is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Hockey Co-Ordinator to join our Sport & Activities team. This casual role is essential in developing and managing all aspects of our primary and secondary hockey programs, including interschool (TAS and Junior TAS), junior development (Hockey4Kids), and representative pathways.
This role works collaboratively with coaches, staff, volunteers, and the wider JPC community to deliver a dynamic, sequential hockey program that caters for players of all abilities, from Prep through Year 12.
The Key Responsibilities of the Hockey Co-Ordinator will include:
- Leading and managing all aspects of the hockey program, including TAS, Junior TAS, junior development programs, and tournaments
- Creating and implementing a high-quality developmental and sequential hockey program for P-12 students
- Developing a strategic plan for the sport in liaison with the Head of Sport & Activities
- Recruiting, developing, and supporting quality coaches through appropriate training and skill development
- Ensuring smooth coordination of competitions, including TAS home games and Junior TAS fixtures
- Managing team selections in accordance with College policies
- Organising uniforms, equipment, and maintaining accurate team lists and venue bookings
- Administering rosters and payments for coaches and umpires
- Preparing risk assessments and event request forms
- Supporting student achievement reporting, including representative honours and awards
- Communicating effectively with all stakeholders including students, parents, coaches, and community partners

Essential qualifications and experience include:
- Experience in hockey with a track record in a similar role in a school environment
- Proven experience managing the operations of hockey programs
- Expertise in recruiting and developing quality staff to meet diverse program requirements
- High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Current First Aid certificate, or ability to obtain one
- Current Blue Card / Positive Notice Working with Children check, or ability to obtain one
- Appropriate level of playing or coaching experience (current or past)
