REPORTS TO: Hockey Coordinator
Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Hockey Instructor at the Morgan Park Sports Center. The Hockey Instructor is responsible for assisting and/or running beginner and intermediate hockey classes at Morgan Park Sports Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Include the following - other duties may be assigned.
Assist and/or lead hockey lessons and be able to teach basic skating or hockey skills at the discretion of the hockey coordinator.
Monitor proper use of equipment.
Assist in the planning and organization of the lessons.
Provide patrons with the proper techniques needed to succeed in the development of their hockey skills.
Provide a safe and fun environment that promotes enjoying the sport for exercise and fun.
SKILLS REQUIRED
Position requires ability to:
Plan and lead on-ice practices sessions for the intro to hockey program.
Develop and implement development plans for players across various age groups.
Collaborate with team coaches to provide in-game and practice support.
Support development during team practices, skills sessions, and clinics.
Maintain a professional, enthusiastic, and inclusive environment on and off the ice.
Communicate with parents on progression, and scheduling.
Complete other tasks and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience as a hockey player or coach.
Strong understanding of fundamentals, techniques, and current training trends.
USA Hockey coaching certification (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff.
Must pass a background check and adhere to all SafeSport guidelines.
Hours: This position requires the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Able to work specifically on weekday evenings and weekends.
HOURLY RATE: $18.50
