POSITION SUMMARY:

The Hockey Program Lead is responsible for all hockey related activities, such as leagues, events, Learn-to-Play, hockey camps/clinics, teams, as well as supervising hockey instructors and scorekeepers. This position is responsible for creating a first-class programming experience for all participants, coaches, officials, and spectators across all our offerings.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Directly align with the SFM Statement and Core Values
  • Provide effective training, workflow structure, and leadership for hockey programming
  • Oversee the recruitment and training of hockey coaches; actively recruit new players and teams
  • Effectively manage all aspects of the program/camp registration process; create efficient purchasing/registration experience for all programming customers
  • Assist in creating a fair and competitive playing experience for all participants
  • Coordinate with Skate School Lead for scheduling ice time and programs
  • Build relationships and communicate effectively with guests; ensure teams and guests keep locker room neat and clean
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for guests and team members
  • Serve as MOD as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience and success in customer service and programming administration preferred
  • 3+ years in the hockey industry required
  • USA Hockey Certified Coach required
  • Must have experience in programming setup
  • Must have knowledge of recreational/facility management software programs
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Must have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours)
  • Must possess current CPR/AED/First Aid certification or must be willing to obtain them within 90 days of hire

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bend
  • Will be required to work in cold environments for extended periods of time
  • Will be required to operate a computer
