Jon Title: Ice Technician / Arena Operator
Department: Facilities and Operations 
Reports To: Ice Quality and Maintenance Manager
Job Type: Part Time / Casual (evening and weekend shifts)
Wage: $20-$25/Hour 

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and upkeep of ice surfaces, arena equipment and facility infrastructure. This role ensures optimal ice conditions, cleanliness and safety standards while driving a positive experience for patrons, athletes and even organizers.  

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain high-quality ice surfaces by performing regular flooding, edging, shaving and ice depth checks.
Operate and maintain ice resurfacing machines. (Zamboni and edger)
Monitor refrigeration and HVAC systems.
Ensure proper ice conditions and energy efficiency.
Conduct daily inspections of ice surfaces, dasher boards, glass, lighting and facility cleanliness.
Perform general facility maintenance. (Minor repairs and janitorial duties)
Assist with snow removal, outdoor maintenance and other seasonal tasks as required. 
Maintain accurate logs of all tasks completed.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. (Post-secondary training in related fields is an asset)
Minimum 2 years experience working as an arena operator or in a related field.
Minimum 2 years experience with ice resurfacing machinery.  
Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Ability to work in a fast paced, customer focused environment.
Ability to problem solve with great attention to detail.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Valid drivers license.
