The Manager of Hockey Operations Manager is the "glue" of the organization. The Manager ensures communications are clear, provides elite customer service and helps our hockey staff spend as much time as possible with the players, coaches, managers and parents. This role is responsible for the logistical execution of the North Alabama Hockey Association (NAHA) youth hockey program, managing registration, payments, scheduling, marketing and serving as the primary point of contact for administrative and financial assistance.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Scheduling & Registration Management

  • Platform Administration: Oversee the registration platform (e.g., LeagueApps) for all NAHA teams.
  • Roster Management: Ensure all players, coaches, and volunteers are properly registered, background-checked, and compliant with USA Hockey requirements.
  • Ice Scheduling: Coordinate with the Huntsville Ice Sports Center, NAHA Director of Youth Hockey and Director of TPH Huntsville to schedule practices, games, and TPH clinics, optimizing ice usage for maximum efficiency.
  • Programming: Add new Spring and Summer programming that utilizes TPH team members from other markets and supplements current offerings for local travel players.

2. Fundraising Support

  • Administrative Lead: Manage the back-end logistics of fundraising events (ticketing, sponsorship tracking, and donor receipts) to support the Director’s goals.
  • Sponsorship Fulfillment: Ensure all corporate sponsors receive their agreed-upon benefits (jersey logos, rink signage, website placement).

3. Communication & Member Experience

  • Customer Service: Act as the "front office" for NAHA, answering parent inquiries regarding schedules, billing, and general program information.
  • Digital Presence: Manage the organization’s website and social media accounts to promote "New Programming" and celebrate player achievements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 3+ years in sports administration, operations management, or a high-level administrative role preferred.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in sports registration software and Google suite.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail; ability to manage multiple season schedules simultaneously.
  • Communication: Calm, professional demeanor when handling parent concerns or logistical conflicts.


This is a full-time year round position. Pay range is $50,000-60,000 based on experience. The position comes with full benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage, 401(k) plan with match.
