Coordinate equipment for Womenβs Hockey program to include maintenance, repairs, and safety assessment of various athletic equipment utilizing a working knowledge of NCAA and National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) rules and regulations regarding equipment safety. Position Description:
(1) Attend all Womenβs Hockey home and away contests to ensure all proper equipment is available and check for safety standards and NCAA compliance. (2) Attend all Womenβs hockey practices home and away to ensure all equipment is checked for sizing and safety standards. (3) Assess team equipment and apparel needs and assist Head Equipment Manager in building and adhering to an operating budget for Womenβs Hockey programs. Prepare direct vendor order forms for review by Head Equipment Manager before order placement. (4) Oversee team issue and monitor billing in concert with Head Equipment Manager. Oversee inventory and equipment storage. (5) Provide daily laundry services for Womenβs Ice Hockey Team. (6) Provide functional supervision to student employees and/or team managers.
Bachelorβs Degree and three years related or specialized experience and working knowledge of software applications used to support area operations required. Occasional to regular lifting of 25-50 lbs. required. Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions.
Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of hockey specific equipment repairs including sewing, heat transfer patching, riveting. Knowledge of skate sharpening including the use of Sparx and Blademaster machines.
