Summary:

The Club Hockey Goalie Coach is a volunteer position responsible for the development and coaching of the team's goaltenders. Working closely with the Head Coach, the Goalie Coach will provide specialized instruction, individualized feedback, and technical guidance to help goaltenders reach their full potential.

Job Description:

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Assist with player evaluation and the selection of goaltenders

  • Plan, organize, and conduct goalie-specific practice sessions and drills

  • Assist with pre-game preparation for goaltenders

  • Provide in-game guidance and support to goaltenders during games

  • Evaluate opposing team's offensive tendencies to prepare goaltenders

  • Supervise goaltenders both on and off the ice

  • Collaborate with the Head Coach on game plans as they relate to goaltending

  • Track goaltender performance and provide ongoing feedback and development plans

  • Submit a year-end report to the Head Coach containing goaltender observations and development progress

  • Report directly to the Head Coach

Minimum qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of goaltender coaching at 18-year-old-and above level (juniors, collegiate, or professional) or high-level playing experience

  • Strong knowledge of ACHA hockey rules and regulations

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching staff

  • Strong communication and instructional skills
