General Definition of Work

The City of Brainerd's Parks and Recreation Division works year-round to offer various programs, special events, and keep the city's parks in great shape for the residents of Brainerd and the surrounding communities.

Essential Functions

  • Prefer certified hockey officials or hockey sport/rule experience but not required.Β 
  • Game will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with occasional Saturday mornings (10:00 a.m. to Noon) as backup if needed. The season runs from January through February, and activities will take place at Bane Park and/or Memorial Park.Β 

Qualifications and Competencies

CDC Concussion Certification required prior to starting date.

Terms of Employment:
This position is considered non-benefit earning since it is temporary in nature.

All applicants selected will be required to successfully complete a criminal background check prior to employment.

2025 Hiring Wage: $30/game

*Pursuant to MN Statute, seasonal assignments are limited to 67 working days per calendar year or 100 working days per calendar year if the employees are under the age of 22, are full-time students enrolled in a nonprofit or public education institution prior to being hired by the employer, and have indicated, either in an application for employment or by being enrolled at an educational institution for the next academic year or term, an intention to continue as students during or after their temporary employment.Β
