Zamboni Operator/Ice Maintenance

This is a seasonal position under the supervision of the Recreation Maintenance Supervisor. The Ice Park Maintenance staff will be responsible for daily operations and maintenance of the Holland Ice Park facility. This includes maintaining safe and high-quality ice conditions, operating ice resurfacing and maintenance equipment, cleaning public areas, assisting with facility setup and teardown, and supporting public skating and program operations.

Schedule: Must be able to work one of the following shifts: Friday Evening (6p - 8p), Saturday Evening (6p - 8p) or Sunday (10a - 6p)

Maintain ice quality by performing resurfacing, edging, and other ice maintenance tasks as needed.
Operate and maintain ice resurfacing machines, snow blowers, and other related equipment.
Clean and restock restrooms, locker rooms, and other public spaces on a regular schedule.
Maintain the building interior and exterior, including pavilion areas and skate rental space.
Ensure public safety by monitoring ice conditions and facility use, reporting hazards, and enforcing policies.
Provide excellent customer service to patrons and program participants.
Assist with skate sharpening, skate rentals, and minor equipment repairs as needed.
Complete opening and closing duties, secure the facility, and perform end-of-day reports.
Support Parks & Recreation staff during special events and community programming at the Ice Park.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Previous experience in facility or equipment maintenance preferred.
Knowledge of ice rink operations is helpful but not required (training provided).
Ability to operate light machinery and perform manual labor in cold environments.
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork skills.
Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical work in winter conditions.
