Job Description Summary:
The Men’s Club Hockey Assistant Coach works with the Head Coach to provide supervision and effective leadership to the ice hockey club sport program. Responsibilities include fostering skill development and teamwork among students; promoting and upholding institute policies and procedures; and initiating activities in support of the sports club. The assistant coach will assist with team organization and required paperwork for ACHA Division 3 membership.
This position collaborates with the head coach to provide skill and developmental support of the team.
A member of the coaching staff is required to be at all practices & games.
Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum Knowledge Required: Working knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of hockey and ability to apply in varied situations. Uses instructions and guidelines to perform the job safety function. Periodic training will be required.
Preferred Knowledge: Working knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures and ability to use in varied situations.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
USA Hockey Coaching Level 1 Certification (or in progress)
Knowledge of Skill Development
Ability to work with and develop a variety of experience and skill levels
The coach must attend all practices and games

Previous playing or coaching experience

Position Details:
At this time, the university is unable to sponsor applicants for H-1B visas.
Club Sport Coach's compensation varies based on seasons. The minimum assistant coach rate for this role is $2,500 per season.
