Minuteman High School is seeking a Ice Hockey Head Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The coach will be responsible for leading student-athletes in practices, competitions, and related activities while promoting teamwork, school pride, motivation, and skill development.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Ice Hockey plays and techniques.
- Coordinate the team's practice schedule and attend all practices and games.
- Prepare the team for games and function as a liaison with other coaches.
- Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive team environment, promoting team spirit and unity.
- Mentor and motivate athletes, providing guidance, feedback, and support to help them achieve their goals.
- Work with school administration to ensure compliance with all necessary requirements and regulations, including safety and liability issues.
- Communicate with parents and coordinate team events and fundraising activities.
Qualifications:
- Experience as an Ice Hockey player or coach.
- Strong knowledge of Ice Hockey techniques and plays.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire athletes to achieve their goals.
- Organizational and management skills, including the ability to schedule and plan practices and events.
- Familiarity with safety guidelines and regulations for Ice Hockey activities.
- Dedication to promoting a positive team spirit and inclusive environment for all team members.
Additional Requirements:
- This position includes but is not limited to: interacting with the public, walking around the school, standing for periods, occasionally lifting and carrying items, reading documents, using a computer, listening and speaking, using office equipment, maintaining energy throughout the day, and handling stress effectively.
