Youth Hockey Development Member

Pay Details:

The starting hourly rate for this position is $19.00 per hour.

This is a part-time seasonal position within the Anaheim DucksĀ Fan DevelopmentĀ Marketing Department.Ā The Anaheim Ducks seeksĀ individuals with a passionĀ for hockey andĀ are committed to being part of its growth within Orange County and the greater Southern California region.Ā C.R.E.W.Ā members support, instruct, and implement various youth hockey initiatives, including streetĀ hockey, roller hockey, ice hockey, and educationally focused events. C.R.E.W. members are enthusiastic with aĀ strong work ethic and work well with others while positively representing the Anaheim Ducks Hockey Club as ambassadors of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and instruct the S.C.O.R.E. Street Hockey program, teaching students street hockey fundamentals and safety practices duringĀ instructional sessions atĀ school sites

  • Load necessary equipment and direct instruction for each session

  • Implement and instructĀ ice and inline hockey initiatives, teaching each student hockey fundamentals, includingĀ safety practicesĀ atĀ instructional sessionsĀ at local The Rinks locations

  • Gather equipment, outfit studentĀ participants, and direct on-rink instruction

  • Assist with preparation, support, and implementation of i3 Roller Hockey Playoffs and Showcase GameĀ at The RinksĀ Inline Facilities

  • Assist with preparation, support, and implementation of street hockey games and tournaments, including the Fullerton Invitational, SAUSD, and others

  • Assist with various school-based events,Ā including set up of audio/visual equipment, street hockey equipment, etc.

  • Drive Ducks ā€œPromotional Vehiclesā€ to and from events

  • Confirm vehicles are fully stocked with necessary items for eventsĀ and unloaded after eventsĀ whileĀ ensuring that the vehicles are always kept clean

  • Assist with implementing S.C.O.R.E. programs, including First Flight, Captains Challenge, and Throwback Classic

  • Assist with the organization and maintenance of the Fan Development storage units

  • Work promotional giveaway events at Ducks games

  • Assist with other tasks on an as-needed basis

Skills

  • Minimum 18Ā years of age

  • Possess a validĀ CaliforniaĀ driver’s license, automobile liability insurance, and a good driving record

  • Must be able to workĀ a flexible schedule, including someĀ nights/weekends and holidays as required

  • Bronze-level (2+ years) ice or roller hockey experience is highly preferredĀ 

  • Previous experience working with elementary-aged students preferred (camp counselor, coaching, teaching, etc.)Ā 

  • Previous marketing/promotional/eventĀ experience preferredĀ 

  • Bilingual speaking ability is a plusĀ 

  • Teaching/Adaptive P.E. instruction experienceĀ a plusĀ 

  • Medically cleared to work in school-based environments is a plusĀ 

  • YouthĀ roller or iceĀ hockey coaching a plusĀ 

  • Requires prolonged standing

  • Able to lift and carry up to 35Ā lbs.

  • Must be able to work in outdoor conditionsĀ 

  • Organized and able to multi-taskĀ and problem-solveĀ in a fast-paced work environmentĀ 

  • Hardworking, detail-oriented,Ā and results-drivenĀ 

  • Strong leadership skills

  • A team player who enjoys working in a team environmentĀ 

  • Excellent interpersonal skillsĀ 

  • Excellent public speaking skillsĀ
