Job Description
The Fargo Force is seeking a Zamboni Driver to join our arena operations team. This role is responsible for the precise and safe operation of the ice resurfacer, ensuring a consistently high-quality ice surface for games, practices, and events held at our facility. You will play a crucial part in maintaining optimal playing conditions for our athletes and enhancing the overall experience for our fans. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate an ice resurfacer (Zamboni) to maintain a smooth, safe, and high-quality ice surface in between rentals and youth games
- Perform ice resurfacing procedures with precision and efficiency
- Monitor and adjust ice conditions, including water levels, blade settings, and ice thickness, to ensure optimal quality
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and operational procedures related to ice resurfacing equipment and arena environment
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness of locker rooms and hallways
- Collaborate with the Ice Crew and other arena operations staff to support overall event preparation and breakdown
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding ice conditions, equipment status, and any operational challenges
- Perform other duties as assigned to support arena and event operations
Qualifications
- Experience operating an ice resurfacer (Zamboni) OR basic motor vehicle experience and willingness to learn how to operate an ice resurfacer
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of ice quality and safety
- Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods in a cold and loud environment
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all workplace rules and procedures
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Must be available most weekdays and weekends (typical weekend shifts would be 7am-3pm or 3pm-10pm)
- A passion for hockey and a desire to contribute to a successful team environment
