ZAMBONI DRIVER / MAINTENANCE

SALARY: $ 16.00 – $22.00 depending on experience

LOCATION:  John Piccolo Ice Arena Old Bridge, NJ

DESCRIPTION:

Old Bridge John Piccolo Ice Arena seeks Zamboni Driver/Maintenance worker to work seasonally from October to April. The person hired for this position is responsible for driving the Zamboni correctly and safely to ensure and maintain acceptable ice conditions. Additional job functions will include the following:

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate propane-based Zamboni Ice resurfacer
• Participate in keeping all areas of the facility neat, clean and safe at all times. These duties include sweeping and mopping the rink restrooms, locker rooms, shower areas, lobby, meeting rooms, bleachers and removing trash, cleaning rink glass, etc.
• Completing all log reports as required
• Perform basic repairs, service, and maintenance to the facility and operational equipment
• Offer excellent customer service to all patrons. Greet customers with a smile and respond to their needs in a kind and courteous manner
• Ability to sharpen skates preferred but not mandatory.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Must have a valid class driver's license in the state of New Jersey
• Must be available to work some nights and weekends are mandatory.
• Must be highly motivated to learn new skills, (ice resurfacing, ice edging), that are essential for a successful rink operation.
• Knowledge and training in operation of Zamboni and other rink equipment preferred.
• Punctuality with reliable transportation
• Familiarity with ice hockey, refrigeration, and/or facility operations a plus
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. safely and securely
