Primary Responsibilities
Hockey Operations
● Oversee all league hockey operations and competitive standards.
● Coordinate with the league's officiating program, including training, evaluation, and development.
● Serve as the primary liaison between the league office, teams, officials, and hockey personnel.
● Administer league rules, policies, discipline, and player eligibility.
● Develop initiatives to improve the quality and consistency of officiating and on-ice competition.
● Support expansion efforts, league meetings, and special hockey initiatives.
Business Development
● Identify, develop, and secure league-wide sponsorship opportunities.
● Build relationships with corporate partners and strategic stakeholders.
● Create innovative sponsorship assets and integrated marketing opportunities for league partners.
● Collaborate with member clubs on league-wide partnership initiatives.
● Develop new revenue streams through events, digital programming, licensing, and special projects.
● Assist in negotiating sponsorship agreements and partnership renewals.
● Represent the league at industry conferences, networking events, and business meetings.
Strategic Leadership
● Work closely with the Commissioner on long-term strategic planning.
● Lead special projects that enhance league visibility and operational excellence.
● Analyze industry trends and recommend initiatives to strengthen the league's competitive and commercial position.
● Foster collaboration between hockey operations, member clubs, and league partners.
Qualifications
● Five or more years of leadership experience in professional sports, hockey operations, business development, or related fields.
● Strong knowledge of professional hockey operations, rules, and officiating.
● Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
● Ability to manage multiple projects while working in a fast-paced environment.
● Willingness to travel extensively throughout the season.
Preferred Experience
● Professional hockey league or team experience.
● Officiating administration or hockey operations leadership.
● Corporate partnership or sponsorship sales experience.
● Event management and strategic planning.
● Familiarity with league governance and compliance.
